Much like Andre Cisco, I sort of stumbled upon CJ Verdell and his abilities on the football field. Before he even enrolled in college, I knew about Verdell because my beloved Nebraska Cornhuskers were in his final three schools. When he didn’t end up picking Nebraska, he kind of fell off my radar until the 2020 draft process.more
In this article I relive and break down Deshaun Watson's first four games as a Houston Texan. We get to see the highlights and lowlights of a rookie Quarterback in the NFL. Deshaun has come a long way from when he first entered the league. You should notice as a rookie, his fundamentals, mechanics, and decision making are not as elite as they are now, in 2020. This series will look to analyze and document the immense growth Deshaun has made, and how we should expect him to continue to improve. Enjoy.more
I, and I'm sure many, have been frustrated with the Texans 3rd down and long defense. After watching every single Texans' 2019-2020 3rd down and long, I came away with some very interesting conclusions. To summarize; stop rushing only 3 defenders, and start rush 5+ defenders way more often. Our success rate in getting off the field on 3rd and long went way up, the more and more we rushed additional defenders. *Note: I classified "3rd and long" as 3rd and 8 or greater* In this article I will break down how our defense fared depending on how many defenders we rushed. And at the end, I look at RAC's "Prevent" defense on 3rd and long, and really see if it was effective or not. Enjoy the read!
Also, shoutout to @CobosQue! Cobo's was started 7 years ago and has really taken off, whether it is Arian Foster stopping by to grab some dillas, or other Houstonians trying to get there BBQ fix Cobo's has become a staple in the Houston community. Always fresh, never reheated. Taking pride in bbq, as it should be.
Special Orders, Big Orders welcomed.

Travis Etienne was one of the best running backs in college football last season, amassing 1,614 rushing yards and 19 touchdowns. He is an elite athlete that makes jaw dropping plays in a variety of ways. In this first film review, YoungAriGold, Texans Thoughts, and Texans Draft took a look at a few of Etienne's games and broke down some of his best plays.more

Andre Cisco is a player that I have admired for a while. During the 2020 NFL Draft process, I watched my fair share of Syracuse film due to the fact they had two of my favorite edge rushers in the draft at the time in Alton Robinson and Kendall Coleman.more
Jonathan Greenard was hands down my favorite Texans draft pick and I believe he will be an instant contributor to the team. He brings highly advanced pass rushing moves, with plenty of counters as well. His run defense is also extremely sound and he prides himself in it. Greenard can start day 1 at OLB and wreck havoc. Super excited to watch his career with the Texans.more
The Houston Texans got a steal when they traded for CB Gareon Conley. Breaking down his film shows Conley's elite press man coverage, ability to recover when beaten, and skills to break up the ball at the catch point. If they use him to his strengths, his ceiling is limitless and he will be a true CB1 for the rest of his bright future.more
According to the National Media, the 2020 Draft Class is a continuation of an apocalyptic offseason by Bill O'Brien. The consensus draft grades have the Texans ranked 31 out of 32 teams, with only the Packers having a "worse" draft class. Several very prominent Draft Analysts shredded the Texans and their haul. The top criticism is that the Texans did not draft the "Best Player Available" and repeatedly left "talent" on the board.more
I sat down to talk about the Texans secondary with former All-Pro Cornerback Antonio Cromartie, he provided us with great insight regarding the Texans secondary and what he sees in them as players.more

David Johnson is widely considered to be a player whose best years as an NFL running back are behind him. For that reason, and many others, there was a lot of criticism surrounding the trade that landed David Johnson in Houston, unsurprisingly.more
In life, the feeling of being wanted can not be overstated. Whether it's a company wanting you to join their company. A woman wanting to date you. Or remember that feeling as a kid, when someone asks you to hang out or when you were picked first to play ball ...more
Why did we choose the name Texan’s Unfiltered? Our goal was to present the Texans in a way that was not “filtered” by the media narrative. A narrative that is set by national writers/analysts that are only capable of devoting a minimum amount of time to the Texans, and in doing so they take the easiest path.
